Apply Now Our Columbus, Ohio client has a remote contract opportunity for a Senior APIGEE API Engineer. Accountabilities:
- Deliver on critical initiatives that move the business forward and identify new strategies that position us for growth
- Improve functionality, performance, productivity, and the overall user experience
- Collaborate with Business Partners and IT Colleagues in performing effective analysis to investigate business problems, identify and expose root causes, identify and evaluate options, and recommend solutions
- Demonstrate cross functional experience and functional configurations within multiple SAP modules to support processes and procedures
- Contribute to the complete set of cutover tasks and dependencies that will enable a successful release of program code and configuration
- Provide timely and effective communications, including appropriate status updates, to all impacted stakeholders / business partners / IT colleagues / management
- Strong expertise in developing API strategy and capability roadmaps aligning to enterprise goals. Advanced understanding/exposure to overall API-Management concepts.
- Experience in defining overall API architecture, API implementations, integration and deployment
- Good hands on experience on APIGEE Portal, Portal customization and integration with APIGEE Edge using, Drupal, NodeJS, JavaScript
- APIGEE Microgateway installation, deployment, proxy and custom policy development, NodeJS, Java Script
- Design and develop security policies, custom integration with IAM Systems (like Okta, AD)
- Build integration with Single Page Apps, Third Party Systems using OAuth2, SSO, OpenID Connect, JWT
- Good understanding of key based security, certificate configuration , encryption and end-end security principles in app development
- Deep understanding of APIGEE Components and infrastructure deployment models, should have done at least one deployment of APIGEE Edge and Microgateway OnPremise installation
- Hands on experience of building APIs, proxies, swagger, policies development, custom policy development in APIGEE
- Experience of implementing security and authorization policies in APIGEE and integration with security tools like Okta, AD, Azure, Auth0, Splunk etc.
- Good knowledge of SOA, SAML, SSO, OAuth2, OpenID, JWT, Key base security, certificates configurations, SSH, TLS
- Understanding of Microservices architecture and patterns, microgateway (preferred APIGEE), Istio, docker, kubernetes fundamentals
- Exposure to concepts of load balancer, firewalls, TCP, TLS, SSH, automated testing of APIs, Jenkins, CI/CD etc.
- Candidates with APIGEE Certifications will be preferred
- Candidates with experience of any other APIM platform like CA Layer7, Mulesoft, IBM API Connect, Kong along with APIGEE will be preferred
- Passionate coders with 3-5 years of application development experience with Java and JavaScript. Node.js and Maven a plus
- 2+ years of Apigee APIM delivering solid APIs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills must convey thoughts and ideas simply and concisely
- Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
- Candidates with APIGEE Certifications will be preferred
